Cedric Peyravernay is a concept artist who has mainly worked on the Dishonored series, as well as other projects such as Love, Death and Robots on Netflix. He mainly uses Photoshop but he is very familiar with traditional painting. He does a lot of character concept art, but also creates environmental art.

His style often uses washed out colours to convey a bleak tone in much of his work. Many of his projects, not just Dishonored, are set in a retro-futuristic setting - combining a 19th century look with advanced technology. His work on Dishonored 2 does much to convey the dark, industrial themes of Dishonored's world. Many of his pieces show the contrast between rich and poor - dark corners with poor people and infestations convey this visually, by placing these elements in darkness or in the corners of the piece, away from the main focus. His style is not entierely realistic. Dishonored's style has been described as 'a painting in motion'. His characters often have slightly exaggerated proportions, and their faces look as if they are made of brush strokes. He uses techniques similar to cartoons to convey character's personality through their appearance. For example, a worker might have large shoulders and hands, with larger facial features, whereas an aristocrat would be thin with smaller, sharp edged features. The world itself is also somewhat exaggerated, with large, forbodeing buildings and many eye catching elements of technology such as pylons, turbines and carriage rails.

When playing Dishonored, Peyravernay's style comes through well when translated into 3D. The levels look like they have been directly adapted into 3D. Textures have the same painted style as his work. The colour palette is also consistent, as well as the elements of character design. It gives the game a very unique look that makes it stand out compared to other games.
